Behind every success story is a humble beginning. For many have been given the opportunity to rise by someone. In the spirit of paying it forward, we believe education is the key to success. To this end, we are dedicated to investing in the society and environment we live in.
Giving Is Living Charity Run 2017
Together with Chee Siah Le Kee & Partners, we organised a charity run to raise funds to aid 4 beneficiaries which are Wings Melaka Centre for Developmental Disabilities, Joy Workshop Melaka, Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia and Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Shelter. Along with that aim, we also intended to promote public awareness of learning disabilities in the country. On 12 November 2017, over 1,000 participants attended the run in Melaka and crossed the finish line despite the rain. All in all, the event was a success and everyone had a wonderful time.
Project Aware – Dive Against Debris
On 18 August 2017, the Affin Hwang Asset Management team sailed over to Pulau Tioman and participated in Project AWARE’s program, Dive Against Debris® to remove marine debris from the ocean. A team of 21 volunteer divers were sent to the bottom of the ocean with mesh bags to remove marine debris while some also cleaned up the beach after the dive. A total of 30kgs of waste and debris were collected and removed from the beach and ocean floor. It was truly an eye-opening underwater experience that inspired us to preserve our marine life.
Feed the Homeless
Affin Hwang AM worked together with refugees from “The Picha Project” and organised a food distribution campaign to aid three hundred members of the homeless community residing around the Central Market centre district.

Sixty employees volunteered their time after work to contribute to the local community. In set groups, they traveled through the busy streets to deliver pre-packed food to the people in need.
Lunch & Learn
Affin Hwang AM organised a CSR – Lunch and Learn session on 9 March to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced work life. All attendees were provided a delicious and healthy lunch by La Juiceria, consisting of either a Buddha Bowl or Teriyaki Chicken and a bottle of cold-pressed juice, followed up with a talk by nutritionist Wai Leng Poh.

It was a fun session that instilled in all attendees the notion ‘you are what you eat’.
