      Responsibilities
      • To manage clients investment portfolio;
      • To source and generate new business leads to increase market share;
      • To achieve set Key Performance Standard;
      • To identify and tailor investment products/solutions to meet new/existing clients’ financial needs;
      • To proactively participate in sales campaigns to achieve set objective;

      Requirements

    • Portfolio Manager, Equity
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • To manage discretionary clients and unit trust portfolios and ensure that the portfolios outperform their respective benchmarks within the constraints of their investment mandates;
      • To conduct company visits, research and analyse on prospective and current investments;
      • To assist the team in formulating an overall strategy and macroeconomic outlook; and
      • To service client as and when necessary.
      Requirements
      • Bachelor degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline;
      • Five (5) or more years of experience in investment or asset management company;
      • Strong communication skills; and
      • Proven track record of generating performance returns.
    • Manager, Institution, Corporate & HNWI Business (JB and Ipoh)
      (To be based in Johor Bahru and Ipoh)
      Responsibilities
      • To provide total investment solutions to high net worth individuals, corporations and institutions client in the regions; and
      • Ability to develop and generate new business leads for the regions to increase market share, negotiate deals successfully and manage allocated expense budget independently.
      Requirements
      • At least 3 years’ experience working in investment management including Client Portfolio Management experience;
      • Bachelor degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline;
      • Possess a strong work ethic, willing and able to travel extensively domestically, very detail-oriented; and
      • Proven ability to build and manage strong working relationships both internally and externally is essential.
    • Full Stack Developer
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      You will be responsible to participate in product development, from ideation to deployment and beyond, as well as work within a team to execute new features or products.

      The ideal person for this role is a problem-solver with an inquisitive and innovative mind, and loves to collaborate with other teams to drive the company forward.
      Responsibilities
      • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions;
      • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design; 
      • Write effective APIs;
      • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency;
      • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design; and
      • Share existing and acquired skills with team members through formal and informal mentoring.
      Requirements
      • Equivalent to either a bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or an approved related field;
      • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery);
      • Familiar with common stacks;
      • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Vue.js, Angular, React, Node.js);
      • Familiar with databases (e.g. MongoDB), web servers (e.g. NGINX) and UI/UX design;
      • Experience with Azure, AWS, Cloud services, container, RHEL and CLI is an added advantage;
      • Familiar with financial and capital markets and instruments is an added advantage;
      • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
      • Adherence to SOLID principles; and
      • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail; quality conscious, yet open and flexible to other’s ideas and suggestions.
    • Web Development Internship
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • Assume responsibilities in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the software application;
      • To support the developer in application development project;
      • To support and maintain our core applications; and
      • To assume any duties and responsibilities as assigned by the team lead.
      Requirements
      • Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
      • Preferred skill(s):
        • Web development (javascript, bootstrap, jquery, vue.js);
        • Database (mongodb, mssql);
        • API (REST, SOAP); and 
        • Knowledge in cloud computing is an added advantage.
      • Internship participation for a minimum duration of three (3) months.
    • UI/UX Designer Intership
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual who has a genuine interest in mobile and web design (UI/UX). The ideal candidate must be someone who is passionate in design and is up-to-date with design trends.
      Responsibilities
      • Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces;
      • Translate user stories and business requirements into effective designs;
      • Design sitemap, wireframes, prototypes and UI; and
      • Collaborate and assist with development team to ensure accurate implementation of the designs.
      Requirements
      • Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Multimedia, Arts or equivalent;
      • Strong design sense and creativity (preferably into minimalist and classy design);
      • Able to handle tight deadlines without compromising on quality;
      • Experience with UI/UX;
      • Excellent Communication and teamwork skills with great attention to detail; and
      • Internship participation for a minimum duration of three (3) months.

TENG CHEE WAI

Managing Director
Teng Chee Wai is the founder of Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad (Affin Hwang AM). Over the past decade, he has built the Company to be the fastest growing and only independent investment management house in Malaysia’s top three, with an excess of RM47 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 2018.​

​In his capacity as Managing Director / Executive Director, Teng manages the overall business and strategic direction as well as the management of the investment team. His hands-on approach sees him actively involved in investments, product development and marketing. Teng’s critical leadership and regular participation in reviewing and assessing strategies and performance has been pivotal in allowing the Company to successfully navigate the economically turbulent decade.

Teng’s investment management experience spans more than 20 years, and his key area of expertise is in managing absolute return mandates for insurance assets and investment-linked funds in both Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to his current appointments, he was the Assistant General Manager (Investment) of Overseas Assurance Corporation (OAC) and was responsible for the investment function of the Group Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd.​

​Teng began his career in the financial industry as an Investment Manager with NTUC Income, Singapore. He is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the National University of Singapore and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Studies from City University in London.
