    • Client Development & Relationship Executive/Manager
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • Assist the head in the sales process from strategising, planning, prospecting, responding to request for proposal (RFPs), building relationships, presenting to servicing;
        a. Responding to all RFPs from prospects/clients i.e. government/public sector, insurers, institutional investors, intermediaries
        b. Drafting presentation materials to institutional clients
        c. Ensure information provided in the RFPs are complete, reflective of the company's philosophy and reviewed
        d. Demonstrate client understanding and context filling in RFPs;
      • Define Affin Hwang’s value proposition in presentation materials and client interactions;
      • Assist the head in prospecting activities;
      • Assist the head in managing the counterpart's relationship;
      • Assist the head in consultant relationships;
      • Assist in reviewing the company's product performance and details in global databases. This includes competitiveness, etc;
      • Maximize the value of global databases by utilizing its capabilities for RFPs, pitches, etc.;
      • Be actively involved in the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) compliance project;
      • Be actively involved in stewardship initiatives including managing proxy voting coordination;
      • Conduct investment analysis and research or special projects. This will involve working closely with the Middle Office and Investment team. 
      Requirements
      • Bachelor degree (preferably in actuarial science, finance, engineering, etc) and willingness to study for relevant professional qualifications, such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or actuarial qualifications;
      • Interest in investment issues and desire to deepen knowledge over time;
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
      • Excellent numeric ability and;
      • Professional maturity.
    • Customer Experience Manager
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • Internal Customer Experience Culture & WOW mindset development.
      • Driving innovation of WOW strategies, out of the box campaigns and activities to engage and retain customers.
      • Loyalty program management and bespoke High Net-Worth Individual (HNI) service & loyalty experience.
      • Grooming in house Customer Experience team to provide highest level of support, value-add to business units in delivering WOW experience to external clients.

      Requirements

    • Data Analyst
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      Data Engineering

      • Determine the right data sources and develop a means to automate data collection processes;
      • Assist with diverse data integration into data lake and provide suggestions on optimizing ETL processes;
      • Take the initiative to be the forefront in propelling continual improvements;
      • Process raw data which entails reviewing the quality of the data, data cleansing, and structuring the data to enable downstream processing;
      • Create Scala/Spark jobs for data transformation and aggregation and;
      • Produce unit tests for Spark transformations and helper methods.

      Data Modelling

      • Develop machine learning algorithms and models with respective capacity for different business needs;
      • Analyse the subsequent data and provide insightful analysis on the pattern and trend discovered;
      • Analyze and process large data sets in order to identify specific patterns, trends, and anomalies;
      • Incorporate predictive models in order to provide insights and support to the business such as improving customer journey/experience and ways to increase revenue generation and;
      • Utilize data science tools/techniques and employ statistical constructs to solve day-to-day business problems.


      Data Visualization

      • Prepare and convert findings into understandable charts using data visualization tool and;
      • Responsible for the development and deployment of Business Intelligence (BI) applications.

      Requirements
      • Possesses degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Computer Science;
      • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or data science discipline;
      • Strong in both Procedural and Object-Oriented Programming;
      • Familiar with Data Lake and Delta Lake architecture;
      • Familiar with Apache Spack ecosystem that include SparkSQL, Streaming, MLlib, GraphX;
      • Competency in BASH scripting;
      • Familiar with applied data mining technique. This include supervised and unsupervised learning, recommender system, probabilistic based reasoning, time series analysis and natural language processing and;
      • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
    • Integration Developer
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain internal and external secure REST based APIs using standard integration and API patterns in continuous integration/delivery environments;
      • Work closely with internal application team to provide the needed APIs for web applications and mobile applications;
      • Work in a dynamic, changing environment using continuous integration and a dev-ops model to rapidly develop, test, and deploy code into production;
      • Participate in design meetings to create logical, innovative solutions to complex problems and;
      • Share existing and acquired skills with team members through formal and informal mentoring.
      Requirements
      • Equivalent to either a Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or an approved related field;
      • At least five (5) years of application development and system analyst experiences;
      • Operational experience in Financial Products / Services / Banking, an added advantage;
      • Good working knowledge of HTTP / Status Codes, API design patterns;
      • Strong understanding of latest standards/tools in APIs and enterprise integrations area;
      • DB skills on MSSQL, Oracle. NoSQL an added advantage;
      • Technical skill required (C#,Java, MVC, Object-oriented Programming, WebApi, OAuth, Javascript, JQuery);

    • Wealth Relationship Executive/Manager
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • To achieve the sales, number of new accounts, revenue and AUM target set for the calendar year;
      • Selling and Marketing total investment solutions to the Mass Affluent Market in Central Region (KL);
      • Initiate and identify suitable events for the regional; exclusive talks for clients, exhibition, soft launch and etc.;
      • To develop and generate new business leads for Central Region with aim to increase market share;
      • Ability to adapt fast changing environment and objective of the company;
      • Successfully negotiate deals and manage allocated expense budget independently;
      • Ability to understand the sales cycle and strategy for investment management products;
      • Preparing weekly report to be submitted to Head of Dept;

      Responsibilities
      • Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces;
      • Translate user stories and business requirements into effective designs;
      • Design sitemap, wireframes, prototypes and UI; and
      • Collaborate and assist with development team to ensure accurate implementation of the designs.
      Requirements
      • Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Multimedia, Arts or equivalent;
      • Strong design sense and creativity (preferably into minimalist and classy design);
      • Able to handle tight deadlines without compromising on quality;
      • Experience with UI/UX;

TENG CHEE WAI

Managing Director
Teng Chee Wai is the founder of Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad (Affin Hwang AM). Over the past decade, he has built the Company to be the fastest growing and only independent investment management house in Malaysia’s top three, with an excess of RM47 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 2018.​

​In his capacity as Managing Director / Executive Director, Teng manages the overall business and strategic direction as well as the management of the investment team. His hands-on approach sees him actively involved in investments, product development and marketing. Teng’s critical leadership and regular participation in reviewing and assessing strategies and performance has been pivotal in allowing the Company to successfully navigate the economically turbulent decade.

Teng’s investment management experience spans more than 20 years, and his key area of expertise is in managing absolute return mandates for insurance assets and investment-linked funds in both Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to his current appointments, he was the Assistant General Manager (Investment) of Overseas Assurance Corporation (OAC) and was responsible for the investment function of the Group Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd.​

​Teng began his career in the financial industry as an Investment Manager with NTUC Income, Singapore. He is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the National University of Singapore and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Studies from City University in London.
