      Responsibilities
      Candidates will be involved in all aspects of client servicing which includes the acquisition of new clients, the retention and servicing of existing clients, and interaction with the Investment and Product teams to meet clients’ investment needs.


      Successful candidates will be expected to support and contribute to the sales team in fulfilling the following objectives:

      • Market, acquire and provide quality services to clients to achieve the Company’s financial (AUM and Revenue) and non-financial targets (making clients aware of our solutions and capabilities, and ensuring a high degree of the Company’s visibility to clients)

    • Product Specialist
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      The job holder will have her/his fingers on the pulse of exciting new fund launches and are integral in developing the strategies behind new products.

      The job holder work with the legal and compliance teams to make sure the investment vehicle meets all regulatory and legal requirements. He/she will also work closely with the marketing and sales departments to execute the following:

      1. Managing and driving the growth of the existing fund portfolios
      • Create pitching slides for fund positioning on a regular and consistent basis
      • To provide training of funds and propositions to sales teams on a regular basis
      • To assist in marketing and pitching to partners and distributors and be involved in sales activities where necessary
      • Work with fund managers and the investment team on themes, ideas, strategies employed for respective funds

      2. On-going marketing, product and operational support
      • Managing and coordinating the fund reports with ensuring accurate and timely submission.
      • Providing support on existing Funds e.g. maturity of funds.
      • Preparation of periodic market updates and articles
      • Preparation of monthly fund update slides
      • Preparation of market updates and manager’s comments for monthly Fundamentals issue
      • Providing support and answers to sales queries on product features and technical matters
      • Maintaining liaison with 3rd party fund data providers (e.g. Lipper, Bloomberg, etc.)

      3. Work on new product development

      • Preparation of product term sheet/Product Detail Paper, investment strategy & investment for offering documents

      4. Managing and Coordinating Fund reports and customised reports
      • Coordinate the compilation of Fund reports (annual, interim and quarter) with internal and external stakeholders, submission to regulator and dissemination to investors and any other related parties
      • Ensure compliance in Fund reports
      • Manage regular and customised reports for distributor/business partners
      • Manage monthly Fund factsheet

      5. Projects

    • Senior System Analyst
      (To be based in Kuala Lumpur)
      Responsibilities
      • Responsible to define & design API specification required by applications in Affin Hwang Asset Management
      • To work with system users & software developers to understand & identify business requirements
      • To conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users
      • Design API specifications based on business requirements
      • Work closely with API & UI team to provide the APIs needed for front-end applications and mobile applications
      • Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing
      • Run manual & automated tests on the API & UI components
      • Work in a dynamic, changing environment using continuous integration and a dev- ops model to rapidly develop, test, and deploy code into production

      Responsibilities
      The role will be responsible for the trade execution in money market and cash flow management including fulfilling the following tasks and responsibilities:

      1. Portfolio Cash Management
      • To ensure portfolios have sufficient cash to cover for future payables;
      • Monitoring of portfolios cash flow and identify any cash flow requirements; and
      • To advise portfolio manager to raise cash when necessary;

      2. Money Market and Deposit Placements 
      • To place idle or un-invested cash into money markets and/or deposit placements;

Managing Director
Teng Chee Wai is the founder of Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad (Affin Hwang AM). Over the past decade, he has built the Company to be the fastest growing and only independent investment management house in Malaysia’s top three, with an excess of RM47 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 2018.​

​In his capacity as Managing Director / Executive Director, Teng manages the overall business and strategic direction as well as the management of the investment team. His hands-on approach sees him actively involved in investments, product development and marketing. Teng’s critical leadership and regular participation in reviewing and assessing strategies and performance has been pivotal in allowing the Company to successfully navigate the economically turbulent decade.

Teng’s investment management experience spans more than 20 years, and his key area of expertise is in managing absolute return mandates for insurance assets and investment-linked funds in both Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to his current appointments, he was the Assistant General Manager (Investment) of Overseas Assurance Corporation (OAC) and was responsible for the investment function of the Group Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd.​

​Teng began his career in the financial industry as an Investment Manager with NTUC Income, Singapore. He is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the National University of Singapore and has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Studies from City University in London.
